A video of some day scenes in Patong, Thailand.
Fiddy’s is no longer
The Scottish Bar and Guesthouse Fiddy’s was a welcome sight among the generic hotels and shop fronts around Patong. They had a loyal following and a full English Breakfast that was touted as the best in town.
Unfortunately, the time was up and as you can see from the video the hammers were falling literally on the place. It’s now another massage parlour – not like the area was crying out for such an establishment.
It’s always a risk when you eat at a different places from day to day in tourist areas.
I know it was the meal I ate in that restaurant as I hadn’t eaten for around 12 hours, and my stomach started grumbling about 2 mins into the meal. 20 minutes after leaving I was on the toilet with a severe case of diarrhoea.
Despite my best efforts of drinking extra fluids and some medication, I had to cut my Patong trip short and it took me a full 4 days to recover.
Don’t eat in an empty restaurant is my advice folks! 🙂
Soi Sansabai flooding
After each heavy downpour the road flooded for around an hour or so afterwards. Something to bear in mind if you are going to be around the area. Don’t wear your best shoes 🙂
